The Director-General of Real Estate Affairs and Acting Director-General of Finance, George Maaraoui, announced that there is a backlog of transactions in the real estate departments of Mount Lebanon since their closure, confirming that employees have started working internally to complete them.
Speaking on the "Naharkom Sa'eed" program on LBCI, he hoped that these transactions would be completed as soon as the current strike by the public sector ends.
Maaraoui said, "We will undertake to complete the transactions and inform citizens when they are ready in each real estate department. Currently, we only have 21 registrars covering work across Lebanon."
Maaraoui believed that updating administrative procedures is the solution to this crisis, allowing citizens to complete transactions away from bureaucracy, calling for the adoption of the law that was worked on in 2018.
